Your Guide ~ Ben “Good Vibes” Spellman

With an infectious enthusiasm for life, it doesn’t take long to understand how Ben became known to the community as Good Vibes. Through 11 moves and different 9 schools during his childhood in Des Moines, the seed was planted for living in the moment. From a young age, learned that to have community you have to grow it. Always an athlete, Ben first explored yoga through a course at the University of Northern Iowa. While enduring some trying personal times that tested his will and challenged his perspective, Ben would again turn to yoga in 2011 when an acquaintance provided him a list of 90 yoga poses. In an attempt to reflect and move forward, Ben used that list to learn movement, focus and meditation and became a passionate practitioner. His everyday commitment to learning and exploration of all styles and practices has helped mold his teaching methods. In 2013, he earned his 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification and began to use teaching as a way to bring people together. Good Vibes guides you on a journey of energy and peace through yoga. His genuine personality and radiant positive energy has generated a loyal tribe of yogis in the Des Moines community where he is leading a movement of human reconnection.

Your Guide ~ Hannah Muse

Award-winning yoga teacher Hannah Muse spreads her love of yoga far and wide, teaching retreats, workshops, festivals and teacher trainings internationally.  She is known for her profound devotion to this practice, her nurturing teachings that weave ancient wisdom & ritual into dynamic playful movement, that sweet Bhakta voice that stirs deep in your soul, and the infectious bliss that she radiates wherever she roams.  She has been commended for her ability to apply the ancient secrets of yoga to our busy modern lives.  Her experience does not lie solely in one tradition or style of yoga – her teachings include therapeutic alignment, dynamic vinyasa flow, slow relaxing flow, rejuvenating restorative, meditation, pranayama, mythology & storytelling, mudra, mantra and beyond…  With her home base grounded in the mystical setting of redwoods+ocean in Santa Cruz, California, her gypsy soul travels the world sharing the sacred gifts of yoga that saved her life and awaken her heart each day.  Join one of her powerfully healing retreats in Mexico and Bali for an unforgettable experience.

Registration / pricing is per person

  • If you are coming as a single, please register for a single room or register for a shared room with 2 beds, and we will find you a yogi to room with.  (We won’t do shared beds unless it’s your friend you have arranged with!)
  • If you invite a friend, beloved or a group you want to share with, then check out the shared room pricing.  There are a lot of great options here.

You can pay by credit card by clicking on the room option of your choice, or if you prefer to pay cash or check, send Hannah a message ASAP with the room option you are requesting and how you will submit your deposit or payment in full.

Rates are currently $100 off per person for Early Bird rates.  They will increase to Regular Price on Tuesday, December 6th.

Kids are welcome and encouraged to come.  We have two wonderful nannies onsite, and last year we had six kids join us; it was such a treat – for the kids and the parents!

$500 per child includes

  • childcare included during yoga classes with fresh fruit smoothies and pool + beach play
  • free lodging in whichever room their parent(s) have reserved
  • meals: delicious + mostly local/organic
  • a kids yoga class + kirtan with Hannah & Ruby Bea
  • historical field trip to ancient Mayan temple included
  • fun family time together on the beach
  • availability to book (you pay) nanny for nights or days out
  • $50 discount per child if more than one child

Most of Hannah’s other retreats/trainings are not set up for kids, so this one is designed specifically with families in mind.  This Mexico Retreat is over President’s Day, and most schools have Monday off, and many have the whole week off.  Regardless, this will be a nourishing trip for the whole family that will be well worth taking some time off to enjoy the sunshine + each other!
